Floratam St Augustine needs full sun and grows into a thick, carpetlike sod, crowding out most weeds and other grasses.
Palmetto is excellent for tolerant to shade, and it is the ideal turfgass. Palmetto is low maintenance turf grass that grows well in a wide variety of conditions, including a variety of soil types. Palmetto will thrive in sand, sandy loam, clay and muck.
Seville St Augustine is dark green in color and a shade of grass that grows slower than Floratam or Bitter Blue. Seville is shade tolerant and accepts only 2 hours of sunlight per day.
Zoysia is mostly seen on golf courses this type of sod can tolerate wide variations in temperature, sunlight, and water.
